Australia

“To my mind, the greatest reward and luxury of travel is to be able to experience everyday things as if for the first time, to be in a position in which almost nothing is so familiar it is taken for granted.”

Bill Bryson

  • Founder of The Tailor - one of the largest luxury travel companies in Australia

  • Handcrafted journeys to the four corners of Australia

  • Unmatched portfolio of local hosts and guides

  • Rare Outback experiences with Aboriginal elders

Drew Kluska has made his living bringing dreams to life. Ever since he returned to Australia in 1997, after running one of Kenya’s finest lodges.

Drew has been on a mission to reproduce Africa’s sumptuous safaris

in this land of endless horizons and boundless cultural riches.

The result is an unprecedented portfolio of “handcrafted journeys,” taking in parts of Australia that most of its citizens never see: rivers teeming
with barramundi on million-acre cattle ranches; bewitching 40,000-year-old cave paintings in Arnhemland and the Kimberleys; the otherworldly 650-million-year-old coral fortress of the Flinders Ranges.

Today, Drew runs what many travel writers and industry professionals consider the finest bespoke travel company in Australia. His portfolio
of wild and evocative destinations is matched by the company of some of the continent’s greatest storytellers and guides – from winemakers and wildlife experts to artists, athletes, rugged ranchers, and passionate Aboriginal elders. These are five-star experiences that are simply not available to
other operators: capturing “problem crocodiles” with fearless station owners; joining practice sessions with A-League soccer teams; walking the sacred songlines with charismatic indigenous leaders; riding horses through ancient gum forests alive with emus and kangaroos.

Drew’s itineraries focus on the superlative-setting highlights of the world’s oldest continent, its longest surviving culture, its most curious and remarkable creatures. As well as the planet’s oldest former reef in the Flinders Ranges, he can take you – along with erudite rangers and conservationists

– to see the world’s tallest hardwood forests in Tasmania, its most spectacular marine life on the Great Barrier Reef, its oldest and most mysterious religious landmark at Uluru.

He also has extensive experience arranging trips through the multilayered, multicultural secrets of Melbourne and Sydney – two regular contenders for The Economist’s title of “world’s most liveable city.”

After 16 years of meticulous research, Drew’s collection extends from the country’s most luxurious homesteads, camps and villas, to super-yachts, helicopters and charter aircraft – and a ‘black book’ of connections that will carry guests anywhere. It’s no surprise that Drew and his company have won awards and prodigious praise from some of the world’s leading travel publications, including Travel+Leisure, National Geographic and Condé Nast Traveler.

“Drew Kluska single-handedly introduced the concept of luxury holidays
to Australia. Others have copied it since, but he was the first to offer a new type of outback experience, a level of customization not seen before.”
